Linda Leslie has been studying and practicing classical figure painting for forty years. Rendered with a limited color palette, her figures appear as if they emerged organically--with clarity and depth and refined elegance--from the earthy ground of the canvas. A streak of romance and mystery runs through her work; her subjects feel at once real and otherworldly, poised in an atmospheric realm of surreal quietude and enchantment.
Originally from New Haven, Connecticut, Leslie move to Sante Fe in 1994 where she studied with renowned figurative painters such as David Leffel, Sherrie McGraw and Kevin Gorges. Earlier in her career she attended classes at the Art Students League of New York and the National Academy School in New York. She is a non-resident artist Member of the Salmagundi Club. Leslie currently resides in Missoula, Montana.
