i carry your heart

12 June - 25 July 2020

Radius Gallery's current exhibition showcases the minds and methods of Ric Gendron, Gabriel Kulka and Mel McCuddin, three artists whose narrative work explores life's dark corners and bright horizons, its mystery, humor and humanity.

The title of the exhibition comes from a poem by the Modernist poet e.e. cummings, whose deeply romantic love poems broke with traditional syntax and followed instead the surges of the mind and heart. It reads in part:

here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows

higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (i carry it in my heart).
