Artist's note about this series:
All the plants I have studied in recent weeks have been used traditionally to enhance women’s reproductive health. Through them I celebrate the resourcefulness and care women have provided to each other, their families and themselves for centuries.
I am not an herbalist, so do not mean to prescribe or to present these plants as an
alternative to other forms of healthcare. The notes I have taken on the medicinal
properties and uses of these plants are merely a palimpsest to convey the deep history of using what comes to hand for our well-being.
