Iva Haas

Iva Haas' daring, contemporary aesthetic invites viewers to eschew traditional references and leap boldly into possibilities. Lamps and earrings pay respect to function, but under Haas’s creative influence, they become otherworldly, futuristic and deeply fun. Her vibrantly colored works draw inspiration from found objects, happenstance materials and the joy of the unexpected, exponentially expanding the boundaries of sculptural and functional ceramics.

Haas was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. She attended the School of Design in Belgrade as well as Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. She has an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Haas was a long-term resident at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts in Helena, MT, and in 2018 she was a part of the National Student Juried Exhibition at NCECA and received a Graduate Award for Excellence.
